German scientists promise a speedy worldwide traffic jams

By the opening of the Frankfurt Trade Fair Association of German Automotive Industry VDA (Verband der Automobilindustrie) prepared a report indicating the direction of development of the German automotive industry

Eight years ago, there was a turning point in human history: since 2007 the number of people living in urban areas, was to prevail over those who live in rural areas. And this trend has been gaining momentum. According to forecasts, by 2050 the percentage of the number of citizens to the villagers will be 70:30.

This implies that large megacities each year will become even larger, and the current metropolis turned into vast urban agglomerations. Today, all over the planet can count 28 of these agglomerations where the population exceeds 10 million people. By 2030, their number increased to 40. Accordingly, every year the question of transport infrastructure will become more acute, because traffic will continue to grow: the transmittance of the current road will fall sharply, and transport streams are crowded with cars to the limit.
According to the forecast of the Ministry of Transport of Germany, by 2025 the number of passenger cars in Germany will grow at least 10%. Growth in the number of freight transport will be 30%, and this trend is common to the entire European Union, where these figures could rise to 80%. Overall, in 2030 the number of vehicles worldwide will double.
According to German researchers, the number of cars will increase not only due to the natural growth of the population with all the consequences, but also due to demographic aging! Those who are not so good "is" on his own two feet, are increasingly resorting to the use of a car and other modes of transport.
The only way out of the world of the future transport collapse is total autonomy of cars and full automation of traffic. In the context of rapid growth of cities and overpopulation most practical solution - it is: a) the early establishment of a fully autonomous "pilotless" vehicle; b) Intellectual road transport infrastructure; c) legislative regulation of all matters relating to the legal consequences of the operation of unmanned vehicles.
Meanwhile, according to the aforementioned report of the Association of the German Automotive Industry VDA, process automation of vehicles is divided into six stages. And now we are on the second!
